Controlled Settlement Joint
Royal Pipe Systems has designed another innovative product to prevent penetration of the riser through the lateral connection and into the waterway.
- Be sure to install your deep service connections with lateral protection using the controlled settlement joint.
- Royal’s new double gasketed controlled settlement joint is a “slip joint” that permits axial movement of the riser.
- Riser movement can occur from settlement forces or concentrated loads resulting from deep service connections.
- Royal’s controlled settlement joint allows for a maximum of 5-1/2” of axial movement with forces exceeding 500 lb/ft.
- This engineered design by Royal allows movement in the riser that may prevent damage to the tee such as splitting or cracking, thus preventing costly excavation and replacement.
The controlled settlement joint is available in diameters:
• 4”
• 5”
• 6” - Certified to CSA Standards B182-1

Plastic Trends’ fittings are recognized for the highest quality standards in the industry. They meet or exceed ASTM, UL, CSA, and/or AWWA standards and several Plastic Trends product lines carry triple certification listing by NSF, UPC, and CSA.

Additionally, our fittings are regularly tested by our staff of quality control engineers to assure outstanding fitting quality. All fittings are tested for joint tightness, internal stress, and dimensional accuracy.
