Deep Burial Solutions
Having a problem with breakages in extreme applications especially with unstable soil or high water tables?

Plastic Trends has developed several solutions to these common deep burial problems.  Our Ultra Heavy Duty™ Gasketed Sewer SDR 14 fittings along with our vertical riser adapter and controlled settlement joint can be used in unstable installation conditions.  When used in conjunction with proper back fill techniques, this system further assists in eliminating system damage caused by angular deflection or drag down forces due to earth shift and settlement. The features and benefits of each are listed below:

Ultra Heavy Duty™ Gasketed Sewer SDR 14 fittings
Our Ultra Heavy Duty™ Gasketed Sewer fittings feature a wall thickness through the body of SDR 14, the thickest option available in the industry. Ultra Heavy Duty™ fittings are used with SDR 35 pipe, which presents significant cost savings over using C900 pipe. These fittings also have gray rings for easy field identification.

Controlled Settlement Joint
The controlled settlement joint (CSJ) inhibits penetration of the riser through a maximum of 5 ½” of the lateral connection and into the waterway.  The new double gasketed CSJ is a “slip joint” that permits axial movement of the riser with forces exceeding 500lb/ft.  Riser movement typically occurs from settlement forces or concentrated loads resulting from elevation changes in service connections.  The controlled settlement joint offers a solution to inhibit damage such as splitting or cracking.  As a result, this minimizes costly excavation and replacement of damaged system components.  Our controlled settlement joint has certification listing through NSF and CSA.  It is available in diameters of 4”, 5”, or 6’ and in SDR 26, SDR 28, or SDR 35.

Vertical Riser Adapter
This simple solution in conjunction with the unique integral flange, inhibits system failure due to pipe spearing beyond the pipe stop.

Plastic Trends’ fittings are recognized for the highest quality standards in the industry. They meet or exceed ASTM, UL, CSA, and/or AWWA standards and several Plastic Trends product lines carry triple certification listing by NSF, UPC, and CSA.

Additionally, our fittings are regularly tested by our staff of quality control engineers to assure outstanding fitting quality. All fittings are tested for joint tightness, internal stress, and dimensional accuracy.
